MIMO Channel Tracking using Spectral Domain Approach

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) are combined to benefit Multi-carrier (MC) Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) systems. High data rate wireless systems opt for these systems. A large amount of challenges still exist due to the random nature of wireless channels. In this paper, using the basic principles of MCCDMA technique, we employ multiple wavelet packets as part of MC modulation. Spreading is done by Walsh codes. We propose a DWT based MC-CDMA system and investigate the bit error rate (BER) performance in stochastic multi input multi output (MIMO) channels. The system conserves spectrum as it does not require cyclic prefixes (CP) to be planted in the transmitted data block. The proposed system is better than the conventional MCCDMA system in terms of BER which can be observed from the simulation results.
